Thanks for taking the time to come to our little corner of the web. We are really excited about our new podcast project — if we do say so ourselves.
The Backstage Project Podcast is composed of three long-time entertainment and tech professionals: host Mark Silver and producers Andrew Dick and Nathalia Ribeiro.
Mark has been involved with many of Canada’s largest digital media sports initiatives from their inception. He was one of the first employees of the Bell/Rogers Olympic Media Consortium where he helped create the digital standard for Olympic broadcasting in Canada for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Following this success, he was appointed Head of Digital for the 2012 London Olympic Games broadcast. He then remained with Bell Media, and as Head of Digital for TSN he was given the responsibility of transforming the digital business of Canada’s sports leader. During his tenure, TSN re-launched every digital platform, most notably TSN.ca and the TSN app.
In his twenty year career Andrew has been lucky enough to have produced several award-winning websites, films/videos and technologies. Never one to shy away from something new and shiny, Andrew was building streaming servers in 1998 and started his first (of many) software companies in 2000.
Still curious (and a bit crazy!), in 2012, Andrew set up a couple of Bitcoin mining rigs and started researching the blockchain’s utility in the music and entertainment businesses. Friends with Canadian music guru Alan Cross from their days at The Edge, Alan and Andrew have worked on multiple music and technology projects along with Andrew’s partner in crime — Nathalia Ribeiro.
Nathalia’s career started shortly after landing in Toronto from Rio De Janeiro to attend University. She quickly got the research position with Alan Cross’ The Ongoing History of New Music at The Edge 102.1. After completing her Masters Degree at UofT, she joined Alan as producer for the tv/radio/web EXPLOREMUSIC project.
Since then, Nathalia has served as President and General Manager for global music and technology brands such as Flink and VintageTV Canada.
